Videobox is a small independent subscription video site curating restored archival history shorts — one hand-picked pick a day, a ranked box of thirty, gone at midnight.
The premise
Every morning a small team led by founder and chief archivist Freya Danbury opens the box: newly restored reels, recovered home movies, oral-history recordings, archival essays. We screen far more than makes the cut, score for restoration quality, historical weight, and watchability, and publish exactly thirty shorts — numbered one to thirty, with a single pick at the top until midnight your local time.
It is not a feed. It is a finishable daily habit: watch something real in a coffee break, then close the tab knowing more than when you arrived.
What members get
- Today's #1 pick and the full ranked box of thirty, refreshed daily at 00:00 in your timezone.
- Access to the growing archive — 1,860 restored archival shorts and counting.
- Honestly labelled restoration and provenance for each piece.
- Web playback on any modern desktop, tablet, or phone browser.
What we don't do
We don't run an algorithmic recommendation engine, autoplay you into a rabbit hole, or pad the ranking with recycled clips. We don't publish fake ratings, invented viewer counts, or press mentions we didn't earn. We don't currently offer native mobile apps, smart-TV apps, offline downloads, or 4K, and we won't pretend we do.
Who operates Videobox
Videobox is operated by Kaadrivara OÜ, an Estonian company registered at Herne tn 24-10, 10135 Tallinn, Estonia, founded in 2023. The same legal entity appears on every legal and contact page.
